Frank Lampard provides updates on Kante, Pulisic, Willian & more ahead of Bayern

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has this evening provided a fitness update on his injury-ravaged squad, ahead of the Blues’ meeting with Bayern Munich.

Bayern vs Chelsea

The Premier League giants are set to get their European campaign back underway tomorrow night, in a Champions League last-16 2nd-leg meeting with German champions Bayern.

Chelsea will of course head into proceedings in search of a bounce-back performance, on the back of an FA Cup defeat at the hands of Arsenal last weekend.

As things stand, though, the odds look firmly stacked against Lampard’s men.

A minor miracle will be required to advance, following a deserved 3-0 first-leg loss.

An utterly dominant performance on the part of Bayern at Stamford Bridge eventually saw Serge Gnabry (2) and Robert Lewandowski find the net within a 25-minute 2nd-half spell, to put the tie all but out of Chelsea’s reach.

Kante in/Azpi out

Chelsea’s slim hopes of overturning things in Munich in 24 hours’ time. though, have not exactly been aided by a rotten stretch of luck on the injury front.

The FA Cup final saw all of Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic and Pedro Rodriguez pick up relatively serious injury problems.

This only added to the woes of the Londoners, who were already without the services of Willian, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek versus Arsenal.

As such, speaking in a press conference this evening, Frank Lampard was inevitably drawn on the fitness of his side’s sidelined stars.

And the Chelsea boss went on to confirm that the aforementioned trio to have been forced off at Wembley last weekend are also set to miss out versus Bayern.

In more positive news for the Blues, however, Lampard added that N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be fit to feature:

Willian, on the other hand, is another set to miss out with a fitness issue, as the Brazilian’s time in Chelsea’s colours continues to edge towards its conclusion.

Bayern Munich are also set to be without a key attacker, though, with Hansi Flick having confirmed that Kingsley Coman is unavailable:
