On track for Chelsea return
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has issued an injury update on Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the youngster having been out since April.
Hudson-Odoi started to stake a claim for a first-team spot at Chelsea last season.
The young winger was impressive when given his chance, leading to heavy interest from Bayern Munich.
Despite multiple bids for the Englishman, Callum Hudson-Odoi remained in London with the Blues.
He was then used sparingly until disaster hit back in April.
The 18-year-old suffered an Achilles injury during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Burnley.
That ended his season, and forced Hudson-Odoi to miss all of pre-season, as well as the start of the current campaign.
The player, though, has recently returned to training, and Frank Lampard has now been speaking about his fitness.
‘He is training, looking bright and sharp’
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Norwich, Lampard confirmed that Hudson-Odoi is in full training and looking good.
However, the new Blues boss is looking to protect the youngster after his long spell on the sidelines.
‘Yes. He is training, looking bright and sharp,’ Lampard explained, as quoted by football.london.
‘But we want to protect him as he has had a long time out.’

That will come as good news for Chelsea fans, who may get to see Hudson-Odoi return to action very soon.
Lampard also provided injury updates on a number of players before the Norwich game.
The Blues boss revealed that N’Golo Kante has suffered an injury, while Antonio Rüdiger is still not match fit.
‘Kante has got an injury, so we will assess that over 24 hours,’ Lampard continued.
‘Rudiger not fit yet, hopefully next week. Pedro missed open training only because he contributed a lot over three weeks. That was just a precaution.’
