Coman tops list of speed merchants at Euro 2016
Bayern Munich starlet Kingsley Coman has starred on the wing for France at Euro 2016 and currently has the title of ‘quickest player of the tournament (so far)’.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport today published (below) the top 10 quickest players of the tournament, with Kingsley Coman clocked at 32.8km/h against Switzerland.
Hungarian defender Richárd Guzmics of Wisla Krakow was 2nd and Iceland stars Kolbeinn Sigþórsson and Birkir Már Sævarsson come in at 3rd and 4th.
Switzerland’s Xherdan Shaqiri is level with Sævarsson in 4th whilst 28-year-old Jonny Evans is a surprise inclusion at number 6.
Buffon refuses to age
The secondary list in the graphic below features only the Italian squad. Not a clue what 38-year-old keeper Gianluigi Buffon is doing in 4th.
Perhaps the 28.8km/h figure was taken when he ran the length of the pitch to swing on the crossbar (unsuccessfully) after Italy’s 2-0 win over Belgium.
Check out the top 10 fastest players at Euro 2016 thus far below. No English player in sight.
