France confirm Barcelona’s Umtiti will miss their game with Andorra

France 4-Albania 1

Current World Cup holders France took on Albania on Saturday, in their first Euro 2020 qualifier of the current international break.

France would come away with a 4-1 on Saturday.

Kingsley Coman (2), Olivier Giroud and Nanitamo Ikone (own goal) would secure the win for Les Bleus on that occasion.

France are currently top of Group H, with 12 points from their opening five games.

However, they are only top by goal difference, with Turkey and Iceland also on 12 points from their opening five outings.

Umtiti to miss out

After picking up their win vs Albania, France have been dealt a blow ahead of their next clash vs Andorra on Tuesday.

France confirmed on Sunday, via their official Twitter account, that Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti will not be able to play against Andorra.

France go on to state that Umtiti has a hematoma on his right foot.

Umtiti did not start for France on Tuesday, and Andorra are bottom of Group H without a single point.

So, the injury should not be too much of a blow for them.

Umtiti has also yet to feature for Barcelona in La Liga this season, only making the bench in their three games so far.

But they will no doubt still be hoping that Umtiti’s injury does not keep him out for a while.
