Fraizer Campbell to sign for Hull City

According to a number of breaking reports this afternoon, English striker Fraizer Campbell is set to sign for Championship side Hull City on a free transfer.

Experienced campaigner

Campbell, who has previously lined out for the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Sunderland, was recently released by Crystal Palace, having spent three seasons at Selhurst Park.

The striker majorly struggled for playing time with the Eagles this past season, managing just 12 Premier League appearances, all from the bench.

Savvy signing

The 29-year-old’s release came as a surprise to few, with Hull City, a club for whom Campbell enjoyed a thoroughly successful loan spell during the 2007-2008 campaign, jumping on the opportunity to sign their former star.

Leonid Slutsky’s side will hope to bounce back immediately following their relegation to the second tier of English football, with Tigers fans excited at the prospect of a fit and rejuvenated Campbell rediscovering the form that made him top-scorer at the KCOM stadium some 10 years ago.
