In his defence
Former Manchester United star Wes Brown has claimed that manager Jose Mourinho’s frustration is understandable after a lack of transfer business.
The side have only really signed Brazilian midfielder Fred and defender Diogo Dalot and that will likely not be enough to bridge the gap between them and Manchester City.
That has lead to some comments from Mourinho who has clearly been frustrated in the clubs tour of the US.
There are several big-name players to return to the side after the World Cup but the players he already has have been blasted as not good enough and not representative of the real squad.
Now, former Man United star Wes Brown has claimed that the manager’s frustration can be understood and it could be his way of getting deals done.
“Jose has been very frustrated with the players that he’s got at the moment,” he explained to 888sport.
“I know a lot of people haven’t been there in the US because of the World Cup and, as we’ve seen on the telly, he’s not been happy with that.
“Maybe showing that is his way of trying to get these signings done”
“Every team always needs strengthening and every year they must add to their squad. I’m sure that Jose will be trying to do that, even to the last day.
I’m also sure that it will happen as well. Managers want to get new faces in and Jose is no different. I’m sure he’ll be after someone.
“Precisely who that will be we don’t know but there are a few names flying about.
“Last season City ran away with the league and signings need to be made to catch up to them”.
