Momo Sissoko has revealed his opinion that Sadio Mane, not Mohamed Salah, will eventually depart Liverpool for Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.
Mane’s Liverpool stint
27-year-old winger Mane has been on the books of Liverpool since 2016.
The Senegalese international made the move to Anfield from fellow Premier League outfit Southampton for £34 million.
And Mane has since gone on to establish himself as one of the first names on the team-sheet of manager Jurgen Klopp.
The pacy African forms one third of Liverpool’s fearsome attacking trident alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, and played an absolutely integral role in both the club’s Champions League triumph, and stellar Premier League campaign last season.

Mane’s stellar form has since also continued into 2019/20, with the former Red Bull Salzburg man having directly contributed to 30 goals across all competitions, before Liverpool’s title-bound term was curtailed by the COVID-19 outbreak.
As such, Mane’s scintillating form throughout his spell on Merseyside has led to inevitable links between the Metz youth product and some of European football’s other heavyweights.
The outfit most persistently-linked with a move for the Senegalese star have been Real Madrid, with reports in Spain this time last year having been rampant regarding Los Merengues’ interest.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to sign Sadio Mané from Liverpool for this summer as he did for last summer before his departure, according to France Football.

‘The characteristics Zidane wants’
In the end, however, evidently, Liverpool remained steadfast in their stance that Mane was absolutely not for sale.
This, though, is not expected to prevent Real Madrid from reigniting their pursuit of the African this summer.
In fact, recent speculation stemming from the English media has suggested that those in charge at the Bernabeu have made Mane the club’s no.1 summer transfer target.
And, as outlined above, one individual who feels as though Los Blancos’ pressure will eventually prove telling is Mohamed Sissoko.
Speaking during an interview with Europa Calcio, former Liverpool star Sissoko was drawn on whether he envisions Mohamed Salah swapping Merseyside for Madrid in the near future.
However, the Malian was quick to shift the focus to Mane, explaining:
‘No, I see Sadio Mane more.’
‘Because he possesses the characteristics that Zidane wants.’
‘He values him very much; I think Sadio Mane will go to Real Madrid.’
