Heading back to England
Former Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that he has an offer from one Premier League club to takeover this summer.
Though, it’s not quite as an appealing offer as it would seem for the Brazilian.
The former Stamford Bridge boss has most recently managed in China with Guangzhou Evergrande but left the club.
He also managed Chelsea between 2008 and 2009 but it’s safe to say that he didn’t do all that well.
Now, he could be headed back to England but not to manage in the Premier League, despite the offer coming from a Premier League club.
That is because Scolari has admitted that the offer comes from a top-flight side who will likely be relegated this season.
Those could come in the form of West Brom, Stoke City or Southampton who are all in the relegation zone right now.
Though, Scolari’s tone certainly suggests it is the Baggies who have approach him over a two-year project.
“I like [the Premier League] so much,” Scolari explained.
“I always look when I’m in the media world, because I love the Premier League, and maybe next year I am in the Premier League”
“No, sorry, the second division [Championship]. I have offers and I try to understand what they want.
“And I have an offer from the second division in England. They are in the Premier League now, but I think that they go down to the second division.
“And in the second division, if you have a project for two years, OK – if not, then I stay outside.
“Maybe I accept because I have offers in the United Arab Emirates and China – I need to think.
“It’s not a problem if it’s first or second division, because the second division in England is maybe the [level of] first divisions in 45 other countries.
“It’s not a problem. If the project is correct for the coach, it’s not a problem.”]
