Neymar & PSG
It’s not really going to be breaking news that Neymar, the world’s most expensive player, gets paid well at PSG.
Neymar shocked world football in the summer leaving Barcelona for PSG in a reported 222 million euro deal.
This weekend more details about Neymar’s move to PSG have been revealed by Football Leaks and Der Spiegel.
The headline news is that Neymar earns 3,069,520 euros a month at PSG, which is 100,000 euros a day.
On an annual basis, that works out at almost 37 million euros.
It was also confirmed that Neymar called on Barcelona to pay him 3,65 million euros on August 1.
That fee was linked to Neymar’s Barca contract, and his bonus structure.
However, Football Leaks and Der Spiegel say Barcelona baulked at making that payment. That also meant that Neymar’s dad, who works as his agent, also lost out out on 26 million euros.
Finally, it’s also being claimed that PSG may actually have to stump up a total purchase price of 242 million euros to have secured Neymar from Barcelona.
Montpellier 0 – PSG 0
It was a disappointing weekend for PSG in Ligue 1.
Unai Emery’s side dropped their first points of the season in a goalless draw away at Montpellier.
Neymar was out of the squad, while Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe lead the line.
Cavani had a great opportunity to break the deadlock. But the South American failed to make the keeper work, as he fluffed his kick in the box.

As for Mbappe, the youngster never came too close to finding the target as Montpellier defended in numbers.
PSG’s lead at the top of Ligue 1 is just one point above Monaco.
The Parisians return to Champions League action in midweek when they host Bayern Munich.
