Quique Sanchez Flores facing sack if Watford lose to Southampton – Mail

Southampton vs Watford

Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off pits two struggling sides against each other.

Watford will travel to Southampton as they look to finally move off the bottom of the table.

The Hornets head into the tie with a rather dismal eight points amassed from their opening 13 PL ties this campaign.

Watford have won just one game all season, and they look set to be plying their trade in the Championship come the 2020/21 season.

However, they do have a decent chance to give their supporters something to cheer vs Southampton.

The Saints are having a torrid time under Ralph Hasenhuttl, and have earned just one more point than Watford this campaign.

Flores’ time up?

But should Watford fail to win on Saturday, we could see the end of Quique Sanchez Flores’ 2nd Hornets stint.

Flores took the reins from Javi Gracia earlier this season in a bid to turn around Watford’s fortunes.

However, Flores’ attempts have largely been unsuccessful and now, according to the Mail, Flores faces being sacked by Watford for a second time, should they lose to Southampton.

Ahead of the key clash with Southampton, Gerard Deulofeu has sent a message to the Watford fans:

“My message to the fans is thanks for the amazing support because in Premier League and England, there is a lot of respect for teams not in the best period and that is really good.

“Now, the players have to give them victories because they support us no matter what the result and that doesn’t happen in other counties. So we have to respect our fans and give them our best.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
