Fit Juan Mata previews Manchester United vs Barcelona

Juan Mata declares he’s fit

It’s Monday, which means that Juan Mata has uploaded the latest instalment of his weekly blog.

In good news for Man United fans, Mata has confirmed he’s fit for this week’s Champions League clash against Barcelona:

Personally, I feel good, I have fully recovered from the injury which I picked up a few weeks ago and I am motivated to finish the season well with my teammates.

Mata has been on the sidelines since a 0-0 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League.

It’s also worth stating that Mata is out of contract at the end of the season.

The most likely scenario is that the Spaniard will leave Old Trafford as a free agent.

Manchester United vs Barcelona preview

It’s not been a great few weeks for Man United.

They’ve lost three times in four matches as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has agreed a 3-year deal with the Red Devils.

Wolves have beaten United twice, while Arsenal beat them in the league.

Looking ahead at the Barcelona game, Mata is fully aware that United must bring their A-game to stand any chance:

We come into this week having lost in the Premier League against Wolves, so it goes without saying that we are aware that if we aren’t at our best, fully concentrated and prepared, it will be tough to get a positive result.

So can Man United KO the Catalans?

Mata steered clear of giving a definitive answer, but he was able to gee up the Man United fans:

It is one of those ties which you dream of playing when you’re a kid. We must be competitive and prepared to battle, but we also have to enjoy it.

They are undoubtedly a great team, but we will give everything we can to tip the balance in our favour and progress to the semi final.

As the boss says, this tie can be seen as a mountain – but they are there to be climbed.
