Fears for Sokratis before Arsenal vs Leicester

Sokratis injury update before Leicester

As is the case with many Premier League players who have been on international duty recently, Sokratis Papastathopoulos suffered an injury while away with Greece.

According to Arsenal’s official website which posted an update several days ago, Sokratis suffered a bruise on his right ankle and was to be assessed before Monday’s game with Leicester.

However, further reports are today emerging regarding Sokratis’s injury and it is not looking good.

The defender did not appear to train with Arsenal on Sunday as they prepared for their clash with Leicester.

Lauren Koscielny, however, does seem to be recovering quite well and could play a role on Monday evening.

Arsenal vs Leicester City

Arsenal head into Monday’s game on a superb nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Since losing their opening two league fixtures to Manchester City and Chelsea, Unai Emery’s side has been on top form.

Their last game would see them smash newly-promoted Fulham 5-1.

After the weekend’s games, Arsenal find themselves 5th in the Premier League table.

However, if the Gunners are able to pick up a win vs the Foxes, they would be joint third alongside Chelsea who were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester United on Saturday.

As for Leicester, they come into this game 10th in the table.

Claude Puel’s side lost their last game 2-1 to Everton.

A win for the Foxes could see them rise to 8th in the table, above Manchester United.
