Cardiff City’s Emiliano Sala was on the plane which disappeared over the Channel

Last week Cardiff City announced the signing of Emiliano Sala from Nantes.

Emiliano Sala is a 28-year-old Argentine striker.

Cardiff broke their club transfer record to sign Sala for £15 million pounds on a three and half year contract.

Sala scored 13 goals for Nantes in all competitions this season.

There are now grave fears for Sala’s life after a flight from Nantes to Cardiff went missing over the Channel.

Was Emiliano Sala on the plane?

Cardiff City have told Sky News that they are “seeking clarification” on whether Sala was on the plane which has disappeared.

Reports from France claim that Sala was indeed on the aircraft.

No official confirmation has been made at the time of writing.

It’s now been confirmed the Sala was on the plane.

What happened to the plane?

So far the plane has yet to be found.

The Times have the following report on what happened to the aircraft:

Emergency responders launched a search and rescue operation at about 8.30pm after the plane carrying Emiliano Sala, Cardiff City’s record new signing, went off the radar. The pilot is understood to have been the only other person on the flight.

Guernsey Police said that the Piper Malibu aircraft, which was travelling from Nantes to Cardiff, disappeared at about 8.30pm.

It was his goodbye message to Nantes on Monday.
