Father of Barcelona sensation Ansu Fati responds to Man United links

Barcelona

Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati’s father has moved to firmly rebuff the speculation linking his son with a summer move to Manchester United.

Barca prodigy

17-year-old sensation Ansu is the latest product of the famed La Masia academy.

In the eyes of many, though, he actually represents the most promising Barcelona youth product in some time.

Ansu possesses an array of attacking gifts, combining pace, touch, a football brain, and a keen eye for goal.

Such talents, meanwhile, have seen the Spanish youth international, despite his tender years, go on to play a significant role in the first-team setup of the La Liga champions to this point in his debut campaign.

Following his latest start versus Celta Vigo yesterday evening, Ansu has racked up 26 appearances across all competitions, notching 6 goals in the process.

‘Happy here’

Ansu’s talents, though, have certainly not gone unnoticed across the rest of Europe.

Despite having only recently broken onto the senior stage, rumours have hinted that the teenage attacker has already been identified as a target for some of football’s biggest clubs.

Manchester United have been the outfit most persistently linked with a swoop for Ansu, with outlandish reports having gone as far as to suggest that the Red Devils tabled a £135 million bid for the Spaniard.

As outlined above, though, if the latest comments on the part of his father are anything to go by, then Ansu has no plans to depart the Camp Nou any time soon.

Speaking in an interview with El Larguero (via AS) this week, Bori Fati, a former player himself, assured that there is no truth in claims that his son could swap Barcelona for Manchester:

‘We are enjoying life at Barcelona. But my son must be patient for his chances, as he is playing with the greatest footballer ever in Lionel Messi.’

‘The United links are not true, Ansu is happy here, he is following his dreams. He does not have to start every game, and he has Griezmann and Suarez ahead of him. Ansu has a lot of time.’
