Fantasy Premier League 2019/20 Gameweek 27: Three in, three out

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 27 kicks off on Saturday the 22nd of February at 12:30 pm UK time, when Chelsea play host to Tottenham.

Gameweek 27 will end on Monday the 24th of February, with West Ham traveling to Liverpool.

So, all of your transfers for GW27 need to be done by 11:30 am UK time on Saturday the 22nd.

But, if you are struggling to choose who to sign and who to sell this week, here are some tips.

Three in including Liverpool midfielder

Danny Ings (7.1)

Southampton are at home to a struggling Aston Villa side this game week.

Villa will kick-off at St Mary’s in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

Aston Villa’s biggest issue this season has been their less than sturdy defence.

After 26 Premier League outings this term, Villa have let in a staggering 50 goals, more than any other side in the English top-flight.

As a result, this clash should be the perfect chance for an in-form Danny Ings to impress.

Ings is currently the 3rd best forward on FPL with a very impressive 135 points to his name, due to the Englishman netting 15 in the league this term.

So, given Villa’s dismal defensive record, you would fancy Ings to once again be amongst the goals this week.

Sadio Mane (12.2)

Liverpool may have been handed a rare defeat in the Champions League earlier this week, but they should have no issues getting back to winning ways in the league.

The Reds will play host to relegation-battling West Ham on Monday the 24th of February.

West Ham are having an awful season, and begin GW27 sat in the relegation zone.

As such, given the fact that Liverpool are undefeated in the league this campaign, and are especially strong at Anfield, you probably want one of their attackers in your side this week.

Given Sadio Mane only played 45 minutes in midweek, you would assume that he will be in from the get-go vs the Hammers.

The Senegalese winger has scored 12 and assisted eight in the PL this season, and should have no problems providing a goal contribution this week.

George Baldock (5.1)

John Lundstram has been, for the majority of the season, a gift for FPL players.

Lundstram started the season as a 4.0 defender, but he has been playing most of his games in midfield.

This, combined with Sheffield United’s tight defence and Lundstram’s goal contributions, made him an FPL manager’s dream.

However, over the last few weeks, largely since the Blades signed Sander Berge, Lundstram has seen his game time diminishing.

As a result, you may be better served selling Lundstram and signing another Sheffield United defender such as George Baldock, who currently has just eight less points than Lundstram.

Three out including Tottenham midfielder

Heung-min Son (10.0)

With Harry Kane picking up an injury in January, many FPL players who owned the Englishman may have decided to replace him with Heung-min Son.

This was, at the time, a smart idea, as the South Korean is arguably Spurs’ second-biggest attacking threat.

Son has also been in pretty decent goalscoring form of late, netting four in his last three PL ties.

However, the Tottenham standout picked up an injury vs Aston Villa this past weekend, and Jose Mourinho recently stated that he is not expecting Son to play again this season.

Chris Wood (6.3)

At 6.3, Burnley forward Chris Wood looks a decent budget option for your FPL side.

Wood has scored 10 and assisted one in the league this term, and with Burnley playing an inconsistent Bournemouth team, you may have expected him to get in on the goals again this week.

But the Burnley striker came off 22 minutes into their last clash, and when speaking about Wood ahead of Bournemouth, Sean Dyche labelled him ‘touch-and-go’.

As a result, you may be better served either selling or benching wood for GW27.

Ryan Fraser (6.8)

Bournemouth duo Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson were some of the top performers on FPL last season.

The Scotsman managed the second-most assists in the PL, with only then-Chelsea star Eden Hazard earning more.

However, 2019/20 has not been as kind for either Fraser or Bournemouth.

Fraser has scored just once and provided four assists in the English top-flight this season, and at 6.8, he is really not worth keeping in your side.
