Fantasy Premier League 2019/20 Gameweek 23: Three in, three out

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 23 kicks off on Saturday the 18th of January at 12:30 pm UK time, when Watford play host to Tottenham.

Gameweek 23 will end on Sunday the 19th of January, with Manchester United traveling to Liverpool.

So, all of your transfers for GW23 need to be done by 11:30 am UK time on Saturday.

But if you are struggling to choose who to sign and who to sell this week, here are some tips.

Three in including Southampton forward

Jamie Vardy (10.1)

Both Jamie Vardy and Leicester’s form has dipped off slightly recently.

Leicester have lost three of their last five league games, whilst Vardy has blanked in his previous two PL games.

However, the Foxes are taking on an out of form Burnley side this weekend.

The Clarets have been handed defeats in their last four league games, and should prove a fairly easy test for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

So, this week may be a good time to transfer Vardy in, or keep hold of him if you were thinking of selling the hitman in wake of Leicester’s dip in form.

Danny Ings (6.8)

At just 6.8, Danny Ings is arguably the best value for money forward on FPL.

Southampton have been in superb form of late, with the Saints now well above the relegation zone after picking up four wins in five PL ties.

And Southampton’s standout star during their resurgence has been Ings.

Ings has been in scintillating form of late, and has bagged himself 10 goals in his last 11 Premier League outings.

The Englishman is now on 14 league goals for the season, making him the 4th best forward on FPL currently.

And with Southampton taking on an out of form Wolves side this weekend, there is a good chance that Ings will once again be amongst the goals at St. Mary’s.

Ings’ recent form has also led to him being tipped to make England’s Euro 2020 squad.

Willian (7.2)

Willian is by no means the best midfielder for your FPL side.

But if you are looking for a good budget option, the Brazilian could be your man.

Willian has been a regular feature for Chelsea this term, with the Blues somewhat lacking in the right-wing department.

Apart from the opening weekend of the season, Willian has featured in some capacity for Chelsea in every league game this term.

In that period, Willian has scored four and assisted five, making him the 9th best midfielder on FPL.

And with Chelsea on the road this weekend, there is a good chance that Willian will provide some sort of goal contribution, as the Blues are generally much better away from Stamford Bridge this season.

Three out including Arsenal attacker

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (10.8)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is once again having a superb season in north London.

The Arsenal attacker has scored 14 Premier League goals this term, and is the third-best forward on FPL.

However, Aubameyang was shown a red card in the Gunners’ last league clash vs Crystal Palace.

And while Arsenal did appeal the card, the three-match ban was upheld, meaning you should really look to sell Aubameyang this week.

A good replacement for Aubameyang would be Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.

Wilfried Zaha (6.8)

Wilfried Zaha scored 10 and assisted 10 in the English top-flight last season.

So, when his FPL price for this season started at 7.0, the Ivorian looked like a great budget option.

However, Zaha has had a rather average campaign so far, scoring three and assisting three.

And with Palace taking on Man City at the Etihad this game week, it seems unlikely that Zaha will be amongst the goals on Saturday.

Ben Chilwell (5.7)

The final player you may wish to sell this GW is Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell hasn’t been in terrible form recently, but he just isn’t earning enough points each week.

The Foxes have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven league games, which of course isn’t great for Chilwell.

And Chilwell himself is somewhat lacking in the goal contribution department.

The full-back has not provided a single goal or assist since game week 10 of the 2019/20 PL season.
