Real Madrid vs Liverpool

Liverpool are currently locked in action with Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

The Reds drew the Spanish powerhouse in the last-eight of the Champions League, after seeing off Bundesliga high-flyers RB Leipzig by four goals to nil in the previous round.

Madrid, meanwhile, were able to comfortably dispatch of Atalanta to ensure their own quarter-final passage.

Both outfits headed into Tuesday evening’s game in fine form, with Real firmly in the La Liga title picture, and Liverpool having won their last three outings, scoring six and conceding zero in the process.

Trent underwhelms

To this point, though, the action has been very much in Madrid’s favour, with the Spanish champions boasting a two-goal lead.

Los Blancos have completely dominated the first 45, with Liverpool looking very nervous.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been particularly poor, with his mistake having played a key role in Madrid’s second of the day:

Alexander-Arnold gave the ball away countless times during the first-half, and was absolutely horrendous defensively, letting both Vinicius Jr. and Ferland Mendy completely dominate him.

In turn, after TAA essentially assisted Asensio for the hosts’ second, fans have taken to social media to back Gareth Southgate, who dropped the Liverpool defender from his England squad for the last international break – a decision which, at the time, saw Jurgen Klopp reveal his disbelief:
