Cesc Fabregas talks to Marca
Ahead of Wednesday night’s enormous match at the Camp Nou, Spanish paper Marca have published a new interview with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas, of course, joined Chelsea from Barcelona.
The Spanish international remains good friends with many Barcelona’s star, including Leo Messi and Gerard Pique.
So how will Fabregas feel when he comes up against his buddies at his stomping ground? Cesc said:
I like playing against friends, you feel an extra motivation.
It doesn’t bother me to play against my previous club or old friends, it motivates me.
Can Chelsea beat Barcelona?
The first leg at Stamford Bridge finished 1-1.
Will Antonio Conte’s men be able to dump Barcelona out the Champions League?
Barcelona haven’t lost a single match in La Liga this season. While Real Madrid were the last team to beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the Spanish Super Cup back in August.
Yet Fabregas is confident that Chelsea can upset the odds. He said:
It’s difficult as the Camp Nou is very big and you have to run a lot, but we’ll work together. The key is to take advantage of our opportunities, we have to play our game but do damage when possible.
I’ve never trained tactically as much as I have at Chelsea and it shows on the pitch, it’s demanding but we end up benefitting from it.
We can’t start at the Camp Nou with a negative mindset, it must be the opposite, we have to enjoy this big match.
Barcelona & Andres Iniesta
Spanish icon Andres Iniesta has handed Barcelona a big boost on Monday morning.
Iniesta has been out of action in recent weeks with a hamstring injury.
But on Monday morning it’s been confirmed that Iniesta has participated in the Barcelona first team training session.
That’s a clear indication that Iniesta is in line to play against Antonio Conte’s men.
