Fabinho’s tough start at Liverpool
Fabinho signed for Liverpool earlier this summer from French outfit AS Monaco for a fee in the region of £43m.
However, the midfielder did not have a great start to life at Anfield.
Despite costing a fair chunk of change, Fabinho did not feature in Liverpool’s first eight Premier League games of the season.
Fabinho would eventually make his Liverpool debut in a one-minute appearance vs PSG in the Champions League on the 18th of September.
It would not be until October 20th that Fabinho would finally feature for Liverpool in the league.
Fabinho linked with a move away
As a result, there was a lot of talk that Liverpool were willing to sell the25-year-old less than six months after buying him.
One team linked with the Brazilian was Serie A outfit, AC Milan.
After the exit rumours, Fabinho has finally had his say on the matter.
Speaking to UOL Sports, Fabinho stated:
“I was told there was something in the press, but I never said I would like to leave Liverpool.
“I was aware that I needed to have the patience to wait for my moment, but I’m happy at Liverpool – there’s no reason for me to leave.”
Since those exit rumours began to fly Fabinho has started four of Liverpool’s last five league games.
His performances are also improving week by week and Fabinho was a standout player as Liverpool beat Everton 1-0 in the first Merseyside derby of the 2018/19 season.
