Fabinho injured ahead of Liverpool vs Huddersfield

Cardiff 0-Liverpool 2

Liverpool travelled to Cardiff on Sunday as they looked to go back top of the Premier League.

2nd place Manchester City beat Tottenham 1-0 in Saturday’s early kick-off meaning they went one point clear of Liverpool at the summit of the Premier League.

The Reds would once again leapfrog City with a win over Cardiff.

But Man City do still have a game in hand on Liverpool which is against Manchester United on Wednesday.

As for Cardiff, they started the day 18th in the league, three points from safety.

Fabinho injured before Huddersfield

As was to be expected, Cardiff put up a good fight vs Liverpool and were very organised at the back.

Liverpool would eventually get in front though in the 56th minute as Georginio Wijnaldum flicked home from a corner.

James Milner would then put the result beyond doubt from the penalty spot.

While Liverpool have returned to the top of the table, they did suffer a major blow vs Cardiff.

Fabinho replaced Naby Keita in the 71st minute with the Brazilian lasting just two minutes on the pitch before having to be taken off with a suspected concussion.

The key midfielder is now a doubt for Liverpool’s next game vs Huddersfield.
