Time to build bridges
One former Manchester United has explained how the club can be successful again but that means Jose Mourinho’s problem with Paul Pogba must be solved.
The Old Trafford boss has certainly not been happy with the French midfielder over the past couple of months.
That has lead to a poor relationship between the pair and the players’ performances have certainly been affected.
Several people have had their say on the issues including Paul Pogba’s international boss Didier Deschamps.
Now, former Red Paul Ince has had his say on the situation and he has explained why the two must kiss and makeup.
“I hope Pogba stays because when you’re talking about rebuilding a team, you’ve got to have a Pogba in there if you want to compete with the Man City’s and Liverpool’s,” Ince explained.
“If you lose Pogba then who else is out there? They’ve got to sit down together, talk it through and get it sorted.
“Jose does love a row, but you see how players have so much power these days, they can get managers sacked, and the good thing about Jose is that he’s got the power.
“You don’t mess with Jose in the same way that Sir Alex Ferguson had the power, he makes the decisions and the board will back him.
“But, by the same token, Pogba has to play week-in and week-out and if I’m the owner then I’m saying: ‘Hang on, I’ve spent £89m on a player who is sitting on the bench.’”
Andy Gray on Pogba’s situation:
“It’s too easy to say Pogba’s problems are Mourinho. They’re not. Paul’s problems are partly his own. Either of them haven’t done enough to bring out the best in Paul.”
