Arsene Wenger

Everyone trolls one Arsenal player for horror performance v Chelsea

Bad day at the office

One Arsenal player has been ruthlessly trolled on social media during the Gunners’ clash with Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

The two sides played out a pretty drab 0-0 draw with neither side really having a fully fledged clear-cut chance to score.

Victor Moses and Andreas Christensen came closest for Chelsea while Alexandre Lacazette came closest for Arsenal.

Though, it was the performance of one player in particular that had the Arsenal fans unhappy and neutrals in stitches.

That came in the form of forward Alex Iwobi.

Trolled

It wasn’t a great evening for the Nigerian who really struggled to get into the game after criticism this week.

The player was supposedly caught having been to a party just 36 hours before Arsenal’s FA Cup loss to Nottingham Forest.

The Nigerian played the full 90 in that game and it has since been revealed that he is set to face disciplinary action.

That meant that the spotlight was on him after it was confirmed he would be starting against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

Safe to say, he might still have felt a little groggy after the performance he put in.

One moment stood out to the Arsenal and neutral fans in the second half when the player’s powerful run saw him on the edge of the box.

All he needed to do was find the finish but instead, he toe-poked the weakest shot we have ever seen at Thibaut Courtois.

With that being possibly one of the most clear-cut chances in the second half, it’s safe to say fans were not happy.

It wasn’t a great evening for Alex Iwobi after the game but he might not want to check his social media tonight.

His mood might just get that bit worse.
