Bakayoko red card

Everyone makes the same joke after Bakayoko’s red card vs Watford

Viewers of this evening’s clash between Watford and Chelsea have taken to social media in their numbers to tear into Tiemoue Bakayoko, after the Blues’ midfielder was given his marching orders after just 30 minutes.

The two sides are currently locked in action at Vicarage Road, with visitors Chelsea coming into proceedings on the back of a shock 3-0 loss at home to Bournemouth last time out.

The capital giants had managed victories in just 3 of their last 9 fixtures across all competitions before today, with murmurs having emerged in the English media over recent days that a loss tonight could see the club part ways with manager Antonio Conte.

Watford, meanwhile, had picked up just 2 wins from their last 14 games, with the Hornets now sitting precariously 3 points above the Premier League relegation zone.

The lineups for tonight’s clash were announced an hour prior to kick-off, with all of Ross Barkley, Alvaro Morata and Andreas Christensen missing out for Chelsea through injury.

However, a surprise last-minute omission for the Blues was defender Marcos Alonso, who was ruled out as a ‘precautionary’ measure:

Horror show

The early goings of tonight’s clash surprisingly saw hosts Watford well on top, with the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Richarlison looking particularly dangerous.

However, the Hornets were assisted to no end by the dreadful showing of Blues’ midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

After giving the ball away cheaply inside his own half on 3 occasions with the first half-hour, the former Monaco man eventually lashed out on Etienne Capoue and received a yellow card.

And, incredibly, after allowing the ball to get away from him once again in the middle of the park, Bakayoko lunged into a challenge with the incoming Richarlison just minutes later.

Referee Craig Pawson (harshly) judged Bakayoko’s tackle as worthy of a second yellow, with Chelsea’s summer signing given his marching orders after just 30 minutes in one of the worst performances in recent Premier League memory.

Chelsea’s fans were understandably livid, with social media all coming together to make the same joke:
