Everton’s staggering injury list added to again as Yerry Mina forced off vs Brighton

Everton’s staggering injury list added to again as Yerry Mina forced off vs Brighton

The frankly remarkable personnel woes facing Everton have worsened further this evening, after Yerry Mina was forced out of the club’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion.

All square

Carlo Ancelotti’s men are of course currently locked in action with the Seagulls at the Amex.

The clash marks an important one for both sides, albeit for altogether different reasons.

Whilst hosts Brighton continue their efforts to stave off relegation, Everton remain hopeful of securing European football for next season.

Ahead of kick-off on the south coast, the Toffees sat 8th in the Premier League table, but fully aware that victories in their two games in hand would guide the club clear of both Liverpool and Tottenham.

As things stand on Monday, however, Ancelotti and co. look well on their way to a 5th-straight winless outing.

This comes with the scoreline locked at 0-0 at the Amex, as the final whistle inches ever closer.

Mina hobbled

The prospect of slipping further adrift of the Europa League hunt, though, actually represents the least of Everton’s worries this evening.

This comes with the Merseysiders, incredibly, having seen their ever-lengthening injury list added to once again.

Ahead of the action getting underway versus Brighton, Everton confirmed that all of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Allan and Andre Gomes had been ruled out due to respective fitness issues:

The trio added to the already bloated treatment table at Goodison Park, with the likes of Jordan Pickford, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Bernard and Fabian Delph already out of action.

Long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin, meanwhile, suffered another setback in his recovery attempts earlier today.

In turn, when Yerry Mina went to ground during this evening’s action at the Amex, Carlo Ancelotti no doubt immediately pondered just what he and his players had done to deserve such a string of horrid luck.

Nevertheless, the towering Colombian, in the end, was unable to carry on, amid what appeared to be a groin problem:
