Everton’s Richarlison claims he received offers from Manchester United & Barcelona

Everton forward Richarlison has claimed that the club received offers from some high-profile sides for his services in January.

Richarlison targeted by Man United

Richarlison has been plying his trade in the Premier League for the last three years.

After a fairly impressive stint with Watford, Everton snapped the Brazilian up in 2018.

The versatile forward has since gone from strength to strength on the books of the Toffees.

The 2019/20 campaign so far has proven particularly impressive from the perspective of the 23-year-old.

All told, Richarlison has notched 10 goals and three assists in 27 league outings this campaign.

The forward enjoyed a particularly fruitful patch in December, with his displays before the turn of the year having apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s heavyweights.

Speaking in a recent interview with Los Desimpedidos, Richarlison claimed that lots of offers were forthcoming for his signature during the season.

Two of these, according to the attacker, came from Barcelona and Manchester United.

However, Richarlison adds that Everton opted, evidently, to keep him, and that he didn’t want to leave mid-season:

“There were lots of offers during the season, from Barcelona, from Manchester (United)

“But the club opted to keep me in the group and I didn’t want to leave in the middle of the season. It’s bad to leave team-mates like this.

“Of course you feel impacted, Barcelona is one of the greatest clubs in the world, but I think happiness plays its part as well.”

Everton vs Liverpool

Everton will no doubt be very pleased that they managed to keep hold of Richarlison for the second half of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are set to play host to bitter rivals Liverpool later today, and will need their star performers to impress to stand any chance of beating the soon-to-be champions.

Liverpool have lost just one Premier League outing this term, with Everton having failed to get the better of their city neighbours since all the way back in 2010.
