The future of Nikola Vlasic
Everton boss Marco Silva has opened up on the future of Nikola Vlasic as his loan spell with CSKA Moscow nears its completion.
Vlasic signed for the Toffees under Ronald Koeman back in 2017 and looked to be a bit of a bargain.
With plenty of potential a low-risk fee at £10million, Vlasic looked to be a solid option in the squad.
However, it didn’t really work out.
The Croatian struggled in his debut season and eventually found his time on the pitch limited.
When Marco Silva became Everton boss, Nikola Vlasic was loaned out to CSKA Moscow where he’s actually impressed.
Vlasic has scored eight goals and assisted six this season, with one of his goals even coming against Real Madrid.
Now, Marco Silva has given an insight into his future.
“We will make a decision for him”
The Everton boss has remained tight-lipped over whether Vlasic would have a spot in his squad next season.
Instead, he claimed that ‘when the right time comes, we will make a decision for him’.
“We wanted Nikola (Vlasic) to play as much as possible to demonstrate his best qualities,” he explained to Croatian TV, as cited by Sport Witness.
“We are watching him very closely.
“When the right time comes, we will make a decision for him. I am pleased that he is playing regular football, that’s the reason why we sent him to Russia in the first place.”
Whether that means a fresh start at Everton or a move, Vlasic will certainly be one of the many names popping up in the rumour mill this summer.
