Everton’s Jordan Pickford ruled out of FA Cup quarter-final & England’s World Cup qualifiers
Jordan Pickford will play no part in England’s upcoming round of international fixtures, it has been confirmed.
World Cup qualifiers on the horizon
Gareth Southgate’s men are set to return to action over the next couple of weeks.
In the country’s final round of competitive fixtures before the European Championships this summer, the Three Lions will get their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign underway.
First up is a chance for England to build some confidence, and a healthy early advantage in the goal difference column, in a Wembley meeting with San Marino next Thursday.
Swiftly following 3 days later will be another very winnable fixture in Albania, before the Three Lions round out the international break by welcoming Poland to the capital on March 31st.

Pickford ruled out
As outlined above, however, nine days out from his side’s meeting with San Marino, on Tuesday, Gareth Southgate’s options have taken a hit.
This comes on the back of confirmation that Jordan Pickford will be unavailable for selection, after picking up an injury.
The Everton no.1 was forced off during the Toffees’ defeat to Burnley over the weekend, after complaining of a problem in his midriff.
And, as confirmed by his club this evening, following tests, Pickford has been ruled out for the weeks ahead. He will therefore play no part in either Everton’s FA Cup quarter-final showdown with Manchester City this weekend, or England’s trio of World Cup qualifiers.
