Everton to rival Arsenal for Wilfried Zaha – Standard

Crystal Palace standout

Wilfried Zaha originally left Crystal Palace in January of 2013, moving to Manchester United for a fee of around £10.5m.

However, Zaha didn’t have the best of times in Manchester, and made just four appearances across all competitions for United’s first-team.

Zaha was then sold back to Palace permanently in February of 2015 for a fee believed to be around £3.4m.

Since his return to Selhurst Park, Zaha has come on leaps and bounds.

This past season saw the attacker score 10 and assist 10 in 34 league outings.

Zaha & Arsenal

After such a solid season, Zaha has attracted the attention of Arsenal, with the Gunners allegedly having seen a £40m bid rejected for him:

It was then reported on Thursday that Zaha had told the Eagles that he wants to leave.

Zaha is also believed to be Unai Emery’s number one target:

Arsenal vs Everton

Now, though, on Friday the 19th of July, Arsenal have been handed a blow in their pursuit of the Ivorian.

According to the Evening Standard, Everton are ready to rival Arsenal for Wilfried Zaha.

The Standard claims that Everton will receive £22.5m for the sale of Ademola Lookman, with the Toffees looking to bring in another wide forward this summer.

However, given the fact that Zaha’s brother has said that he wants European football, it may be quite hard for Everton to convince him to join.
