Everton & West Ham both reportedly interested in Barcelona’s Martin Braithwaite

Braithwaite signs for Barcelona

In rather controversial circumstances, FC Barcelona secured the services of Martin Braithwaite last month.

After Ousmane Dembele was ruled out for six months with an injury, La Liga gave Barcelona permission to make a signing outside of the transfer window.

As per BBC Sport, La Liga rules allow clubs to apply to make new signings if a player is ruled out for more than five months. Hence, Braithwaite was allowed to leave relegation-battling Leganes to join the Catalan giants for a fee of around €18m.

Braithwaite has since made just three appearances for Barcelona, starting one tie vs Real Sociedad.

Barcelona willing to sell Braithwaite

And now, despite signing for Barcelona just over a month ago, the La Liga giants are already reportedly willing to part ways with the Danish international.

As per the Daily Mail, citing Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona want £15m for the 28-year-old, with two Premier League outfits said to be interested in him.

Those teams are said to be Everton and West Ham United, with the Mail claiming that they are both considering making a move for Braithwaite when the window reopens. The striker is also said to have attracted interest from Italian sides Torino and Sassuolo.

Braithwaite’s last spell in England saw him plying his trade in the Championship with Middlesbrough.

The forward had a smattering of good games for Boro, but he didn’t seem overly happy to be in the North East.

And after a few loan spells with  Bordeaux and then Leganes, Braithwaite was eventually sold to the Spanish outfit last summer for a fee believed to be around £4.5m.
