Everton vs Norwich betting tips: Premier League preview & predictions

Everton vs Norwich 101 Great Goals prediction: Everton 3-1 Norwich

It’s been a tough start to the season for both Everton and Norwich with both sides in desperate need of a win this weekend.

The Toffees will play hosts to Norwich this weekend after their win over Southampton before the international break.

Everton were in much need of a win and while it should have been much more comprehensive than it was, all three points travelled back up north with Marco Silva’s side.

Now, with the confidence of a win on the road, Everton are looking to get their season fully back on track with back to back wins.

Meanwhile, Norwich are in desperate need of even a point.

The Canaries are sat at the foot of the table on just seven points despite an initially positive start.

With Goodison a very difficult place to go, Daniel Farke will be hoping his side can pull off a miracle this Saturday.

Everton vs Norwich: Who will win?

It will come as very little surprise who the favourite for this game is.

While Everton have made a poor start to the campaign, the Toffees boast a decent home record in recent seasons.

That and their win over Southampton sees them go into the game as the favourite, priced at 4/11.

Meanwhile, after their disastrous start to the campaign, Norwich are the heavy outsiders.

The Canaries are actually priced at a whopping 13/2.

While Everton have been poor this season, Norwich shouldn’t provide too much of a threat.

Though, the Toffees have a notoriously poor defence and both teams to score and Everton to win is priced at 7/4.

Everton to win 3-1, as we predict, can also be found priced at 11/1.

Moving onto the goalscorer market, Moise Kean is actually favourite to score first.

Despite not scoring his first goal for Everton yet, Kean did star in Italy’s U21 win over Armenia on Tuesday.

The Italian scored two goals in a 6-0 thrashing.

Richarlison follows Kean priced at 9/2 while Everton youngster Anthony Gordon is actually priced at 5/1.

Norwich’s most likely player to score first is Teemu Pukki, priced at 8/1.

For us, Richarlison is probably your best pick.

The Brazilian scored in Everton’s last outing against Southampton and should have a field day against a side just as poor defensively.

Everton vs Norwich match preview

It’s really not been a great start to the season for Marco Silva and Everton.

The summer was filled with optimism after another wave of solid-looking signings.

Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Alex Iwobi, Fabian Delph, Moise Kean and Djibril Sidibé all joined the club.

While some signings have hit the ground running, some have seriously struggled.

Gomes has impressed when he’s played but recently suffered a horror injury against Tottenham.

Gbamin looked solid during the game against Watford early on in the season but hasn’t featured since due to injury.

Moise Kean has struggled to adapt despite being seen as a huge coup, while Delph and Sidibe can only be described as solid.

Alex Iwobi, meanwhile, has been the most impressive of the bunch.

The former Arsenal man has improved Everton’s build-up play but it’s their taking of chances which is the real worry.

Richarlison looks to be Everton’s only real source of goals right now.

Thankfully for the Toffees though, he will be hungry for more goals this weekend after his strike against Southampton.

Can the Canaries hold firm on Merseyside?

Norwich’s start to the season can only really be described as catastrophic.

Things actually looked pretty positive in their first few games.

A 3-1 win over Newcastle in their second game of the season had optimism decently high, before Norwich ran Chelsea close but fell to a 3-2 defeat.

An incredible shock win over Manchester City then followed just two games later.

Back then, Norwich fans would no doubt have been pretty positive about their chances of survival.

Now, the outlook is very bleak.

Norwich have only picked up one point since that win over City in mid-September.

The Canaries also have the second-worst defensive record in the Premier League, with just Southampton worse off.

Safe to say, they’ll need a miracle to come away with any points this weekend.

Everton team news vs Norwich

Everton have had a torrid time with injuries this season.

The Toffees have suffered a few long-term injuries, including summer signings Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes, as well as Bernard.

The good news is the latter could be set to return this weekend, with Silva claiming before the international break that he was applying pressure on the medical team to have Bernard back for Norwich.

Fabian Delph could also feature after he was forced to pull out of the England squad with an injury.

Norwich team news vs Everton

Norwich have also struggled with injuries during this campaign.

Timm Klose could miss pretty much all the season due to a knee injury.

Grant Hanley is expected back shortly after the international break but this weekend could be too soon for him.

Christoph Zimmermann is also closing in on a return, but that may not be until early December.

Josip Drmic could also miss the game at Goodison Park.
