Everton vs Manchester United 101 Great Goals prediction: Everton 1-1 Manchester United

Everton tasted defeat for the first time in six games against Arsenal, and face another tough test against Manchester United this weekend.

The Toffees have been pretty impressive under Carlo Ancelotti, slowly becoming a contender for the top six.

Though, their European hopes took a hit against Arsenal last weekend.

A disappointing defensive display saw them fall to a 3-2 defeat at the Emirates.

Now, they’ll be looking to get back on track against Manchester United at Goodison Park this weekend.

They’re not catching United at a good time, though.

The Red Devils are in the middle of a mini-resurgence right now.

Man United are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games, winning two.

The draw against Wolves was not the most exciting result, but the two wins against Chelsea and Watford have got them on the right track.

Now, just three points off fourth-placed Chelsea (before the weekend), Man United will be looking to break into the top four with a win this weekend.

Everton vs Manchester United: Who will win?

Despite their loss to Arsenal at the weekend, it is actually Everton who go into this game as the favourites.

The Toffees are rather surprisingly priced at 6/4 to win the game.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are priced at 9/5 to secure all three points away from home.

A draw, as we predict, can be found priced at 23/10.

Going one further, we predict a 1-1 draw.

That scoreline is priced at 6/1, while both teams to score and a draw is 10/3.

We certainly recommend the latter, with both teams susceptible to conceding poor goals.

Moving onto the goalscorer market, and there are quite a few attractive choices this week.

Anthony Martial is priced as the favourite to score first at 15/4, having scored in three consecutive games.

Richarlison, who is in equally impressive form, follows at odds of 11/2 to net first.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, also in amazing form, is then level with Mason Greenwood and Moise Kean at 6/1.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes put in a man of the match performance against Watford, and is priced at 7/1 to score first.

Everton’s Bernard, who somewhat changed the game having come on against Arsenal, is priced at a whopping 14/1.

Though, our choice for first goalscorer goes to Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese midfielder was brilliant against Watford, and could easily take advantage of arguably Everton’s weakest position, being central midfield.

Everton vs Manchester United match preview

The Toffees took a hit to their confidence last weekend.

Everton have been on a brilliant run of form under Carlo Ancelotti, having gone five Premier League games without defeat before the meeting with Arsenal.

They even deserved to get a point out of that match too, with Everton arguably creating the bigger chances in the game, especially in the second half.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could have scored a hat-trick with the number of chances he missed towards the end of the game.

Though, some pretty disastrous defending lead to the Blues shipping three goals.

Djibril Sidibé was the pick of a bad bunch at the back, being caught out several times by Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Now, Everton will come up against a Manchester United side in good form, who will no doubt provide a difficult test at Goodison Park.

Can Ole secure Manchester United Champions League football?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come under fire at Old Trafford this season.

Manchester United didn’t start the campaign great, and much more was expected of a side with the highest wage bill in the Premier League and some heavy summer investment.

Until recently, United floated around mid-table, with European football looking like a push during this campaign.

Now, things look very different after a couple of positive results.

An inspired performance from new signing Bruno Fernandes secured a 3-0 win over Watford last weekend.

While that doesn’t sound all that big of a deal, it was actually a result that lifted them into 5th place.

With a European ban pending for Manchester City, that position could even get them Champions League football next season.

Though, just three points behind Chelsea in fourth, top four is a real possibility for Man United this season.

Safe to say, a win over Everton this weekend would go a long way to achieving that.

Everton team news vs Manchester United

The Toffees looked to get through their clash with Arsenal without suffering any fresh injuries.

Andre Gomes returned to the side as a second-half substitute, but could start this weekend.

Theo Walcott missed out due to a small injury, while Lucas Digne also missed out due to a fresh problem in training.

There’s no indication as to whether either could return for the clash with Manchester United this weekend.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains Everton’s only long-term absentee.

Manchester United team news vs Everton

Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford remain sidelined through injury this season.

Pogba’s campaign has been blighted with injury problems, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted recently that the Frenchman still has some way to go.

Meanwhile, Rashford could also miss the remainder of the season after suffering a back problem.

Both Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are closing in on their injury returns, but this weekend could come too soon.
