Everton vs Chelsea betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Everton vs Chelsea prediction: Everton 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea’s recent away form has improved drastically. Maurizio Sarri’s side have won three on the spin away from home.

Everton have failed to win any of their last three at Goodison Park, scoring just one goal in that period.

Chelsea’s goalscoring record this season away from home is identical to Everton’s at Goodison (scored 21, conceded 21).

Everton vs Chelsea: Who will win?

Sunday’s match is arguably more important for Chelsea, given the Blues’ top four aspirations. Chelsea are 19/20 favourites to win the match while an Everton win is priced at 3/1.

The last two league meetings between the sides both finished in 0-0 draws. Another draw on Sunday can be backed at 14/5.

The last five Premier League meetings between the sides have featured seven clean sheets. Bet against both teams scoring at 19/20.

With doubts over who will start up front, Eden Hazard looks to be Chelsea’s best goalscoring pick. Hazard is 9/2 to open the scoring and 7/5 to score anytime.

Having scored 13 Premier League goals already, the Belgian is on course for his highest-scoring season at Chelsea.

Everton vs Chelsea Premier League match preview

Chelsea travel to Goodison Park for their Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday.

Chelsea cruised into the last eight of the Europa League on Thursday after beating Dynamo Kyiv 5-0 on the night and 8-0 on aggregate.

Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick while Marcos Alonso and Callum Hudson-Odoi also got their names on the scoresheet. The win extends Chelsea’s unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.

Chelsea have been drawn against Slavia Praha in the Europa League quarter-final.

The Blues’ top four hopes took a knock last weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wolves. It could’ve been worse for Chelsea as Eden Hazard’s 92nd-minute equaliser rescued a point.

Chelsea begin the weekend in sixth position, three points behind Arsenal.

Everton moved down into the bottom half of the league table following their 0-0 drew in last weekend’s Merseyside Derby.

Everton’s last two home matches against Liverpool and Manchester City could have a big impact on the title race come May, but their next three at Goodison will greatly influence who finishes inside the top four.

After hosting Chelsea on Sunday, Everton next welcome Arsenal and Manchester United to Goodison.

Premier League ever presents Everton and Chelsea have faced each other 53 times in the competition. Chelsea have won 25 times to Everton’s nine.

Everton team news vs Chelsea

Seamus Coleman is available after recovering from illness which ruled him out last weekend. The right-back is expected to replace Jonjoe Kenny in Marco Silva’s starting eleven.

Leighton Baines should also return after recovering from a rib problem.

Phil Jagielka remains sidelined with a small knee injury and is Everton’s only injury absentee.

Kurt Zouma will also miss out as he is ineligible to face his parent club, which could see Yerry Mina lineup alongside Michael Keane.

Andre Gomes could be replaced in midfield by the more defensive Morgan Schneiderlin, while Theo Walcott, Bernard, Richarlison and Ademola Lookman will all be vying for starts out wide.

Chelsea team news vs Everton

Chelsea should be largely unaffected from their midweek exploits as Sarri made seven changes from the draw against Wolves.

The likes of David Luiz, Jorginho and Eden Hazard should all be handed recalls.

Marcos Alonso started at left-back which means he will likely be replaced by Emerson at Goodison park.

Gonzalo Higuain is a doubt after missing out in midweek through illness.

Hat-trick hero Olivier Giroud could deputise up front if the Argentine fails to recover in time for Sunday. Giroud has only started in the Premier League six times this season.

Davide Zappacosta limped off on Thursday night and is another doubt for the Blues.

Ross Barkley is set to face his former club once again.
