Everton to be without two goalkeepers & James Rodriguez for Man City clash
Everton vs Manchester City
Everton and Manchester City will face off on Saturday evening in an FA Cup quarter-final clash.
The Toffees have not won the competition since all the way back in 1995. But under the tutelage of decorated boss, Carlo Ancelotti, Everton fans are no doubt hoping to end that drought soon.
The Merseysiders have lost their last two clashes. However, they are still 7th in the Premier League and most certainly in with a shot of securing a Europa League spot for the forthcoming campaign.
Saturday’s tie, though, is likely to be one of the toughest tests Everton face all season.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are in frightening form this term, and are still on course to complete a historic quadruple after seeing off Borussia Monchengladbach with ease in midweek to book their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Carlo Ancelotti provides Everton team news update
Before facing off with Manchester City, Carlo Ancelotti held his latest pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
When speaking pre-Man City, the Italian would provide updates on a number of his stars.
And, for the most part, it is not great news for the Toffees as they prepare for a stern Man City test.
Carlo Ancelotti would confirm that both Rob Olsen and Jordan Pickford are out.
Elsewhere, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, James Rodriguez, Fabian Delph and Abdoulaye Doucoure are also set to miss out:
“Out the two goalkeepers Olson and Pickford, we have out Gbamin, but we have good news from him that he will start training with the team next week.
“Out James, he will start to train next week, also out Doucoure and Delph.”
🤕 | Carlo says we will be without Pickford, Olsen and James, as well as Doucouré, Gbamin and Delph for tomorrow’s #EmiratesFACup quarter-final against @ManCity.
