Everton star leaves on loan – two days after Big Sam claims he won’t

Unexpected

One Everton star has left the club on loan for the remainder of the season much to the bemusement of their fans and likely Sam Allardyce.

That player comes in the form of English youngster Ademola Lookman who has joined RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season.

The youngster joined from Charlton last season and scored his first goal for Everton on his debut against Manchester City.

Since then, his career has stalled somewhat as he remained on the edge of the squad.

Though, with Aaron Lennon already leaving the club, he was expected to play some games before the end of the season.

Sam Allardyce even confirmed that on Monday in his press conference when he claimed the player would not leave on loan.

Two days later, it has been confirmed that the player has moved to German side RB Leipzig

With only a few hours left of the transfer window, it is unlikely that the Toffees have a player lined up to bring in.

With that in mind, it truly is astonishing that the club have allowed him to go on loan.

They now have three first-team wingers in the form of Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie and Nicola Vlasic.

Should one of those get injured, it could be a very tough ending to the current season for the Toffees.

With a relegation battle looming, it’s safe to say that Everton fans are unhappy.

Defender coming in

One plus for Everton is that they are set to sign one defender in the coming hours.

Not only that, it is a Manchester City defender who could go right into their starting lineup at the weekend.

While it won’t heal the wounds of Everton fans, it could go some way to securing their Premier League survival.
