A deadline day storyline in the making?
Everton are reportedly trying to get a deal done for Michy Batshuayi before the transfer deadline with Chelsea demanding £35million.
The Toffees are not having the best of seasons.
Marco Silva came in over the summer and while he impressed initially, Everton are now really struggling.
They have only won three of their last 11 games and Silva is now well and truly under pressure.
While you would expect Everton to dive into the transfer market to solve their problems, that doesn’t look to be the case.
Though, Idrissa Gueye’s departure could change that.
According to reports, the Senegalese midfielder could be on his way to PSG.
Regardless, Everton have been linked with a late move for a striker today.
Michy on the move?
That striker comes in the form of Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi enjoyed a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season.
However, he was then loaned out to Valencia for this season but the deal is set to be cut short after he failed to impress at the Mestalla.
According to the Guardian, Everton are now looking to sign him to solve their attacking woes.
Everton only have Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as their options after Oumar Niasse moved to Cardiff on loan.
The Guardian’s report claims that ‘Everton are attempting to sign Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal’ but the ‘Londoners are demanding more than the £33m they paid to sign him from Marseille in 2016.’
This is one deal that could go down to the wire with just over 24 hours left in the window.
