APOEL v Tottenham
Tottenham are back in Champions League action on Tuesday.
Spurs got off to a brilliant start in the UCL when they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley.
Harry Kane was the star that night as he scored a brace against the Germans.
Mauricio Pochettino warmed up for the Champions League game against APOEL Nicosia on Tuesday with a 3-2 away win at West Ham on Saturday.
Spurs looked far superior as they took a 3-0 lead away at the Hammers in the London derby.
Harry Kane continued his remarkable scoring record against his London rivals with a double. The England centre-forward has scored 21 goals in 29 London derbies.
Mousa Dembele fears
On Monday it was revealed that Mousa Dembele will miss the APOEL game with an injury.
The brilliant Belgian has been sidelined with a knock to his ankle.
But is the seemingly innocuous injury much worse than fans may have first thought?
ESPN have waded into Dembele’s injury issues, and they’ve posted an update which will no-doubt be of interest to Everton.
Everton & Ross Barkley
Throughout the summer, Everton’s Ross Barkley was linked with a summer exit from Goodison Park.
Spurs were listed as the frontrunners for Barkley, while Chelsea were also said to be in the race.
The England international, meanwhile, is currently out of action with an injury. And in the end Barkley stayed at Everton for the time being.
But, according to ESPN, Tottenham are still targeting the England international. Readers are told:
Mousa Dembele is struggling with a foot problem and Pochettino has been planning for life after the Belgian by targeting Everton’s Ross Barkley.
Dembele is doubtful for Tuesday’s Champions League game at APOEL Nicosia and the Premier League trip to Huddersfield next weekend.
The phrase “life after” Dembele will alert some Spurs fans to the possibility the Belgian star may be more injured than some have expected.
