New Everton signing Lucas Digne has trolled Liverpool fans after they pointed out that he had a chest tattoo with ‘I never walk alone’ on.
The Toffees completed the signing of the defender this week when they agreed a €18million deal with Barcelona on Sunday.
The player then travelled to Liverpool and was eventually announced as an Everton player on Wednesday morning.
That solves a big problem for the Goodison Park side who have struggled down the left side for some time now.
Leighton Baines has been ever present in the side but has started to slow down now and is not the player he once was.
That, plus he’s not had anyone to contest with him for some time now.
The club had to resort to playing Cuco Martina at left-back when Baines was injured for over 2 months.
Now, they have a dependable player to fight Baines for the coveted left-back spot and who will be able to make that spot his own when Baines retires.
Just after he signed, however, there was much discussion over the player’s chest tattoo.
He has ‘I never walk alone’ written across his torso and Liverpool fans quickly picked up that he could be a Reds fan.
Though, he certainly made quick work of those rumours, instead trolling Liverpool by claiming they were are just mad because he rejected them twice.
“It has a story. It is not about football. When I was 3 or 4, my parents gave me a necklace with the words on. Maybe Liverpool fans are angry because I said no to them two times. I am blue!” he explained in his press conference.
