Everton & Watford’s Richarlison
For the second day running there are links between Everton and Watford forward Richarlison.
Former Watford manager Marco Silva, of course, is now in charge of Everton.
Silva helped recruit Richarlison twelve months ago when the South American move from Fluminense.
Richarlison has made it clear that he came to England because of Marco Silva. So could the Brazilian now join the Portuguese boss at Goodison Park.
On Tuesday TeamTalk claimed that Everton were ready to offer Watford 50 million pounds for both Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
On Wednesday in the Times, the broadsheet also posted an Everton-Richarlison update:
Marco Silva has returned to Watford to try to sign Richarlison for Everton… Richarlison’s pace and power impressed in the early part of last season under Silva, when he scored five goals and made four assists, and attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck
The Times also believe that Danny Welbeck could leave Arsenal to join Everton this summer.
Welbeck was part of the England squad at the 2018 World Cup. However the Arsenal forward was one of the players who was hardly seen in Russia.
At Arsenal, Welbeck is also struggling to get into the Gunners side. Pierre-EMerick Aubameyang and Alexandre LAcazette seem to be the preferred options at the Emirates Stadium.
Could Welbeck follow Theo Walcott leaving Arsenal for Everton? The Times report that “Welbeck is free to leave Arsenal, with the forward having entered the final year of his contract.”
To be clear, the Times also note that Everton’s Marco Silva has “expressed an interest in Danny Welbeck.”
Everton’s slow summer business
Everton have yet to dip their toes into the transfer market.
For the record, there’s less than a month to go before the season kicks off.
Along with Marco Silva, Everton have appointed former PSV technical director Marcel Brands as their new technical director.
But Everton have yet to make any signings this off-season.
At the same time, Wayne Rooney has left to join DC United while Ramiro Funes Mori now plays for Villarreal.
