Marco Silva vs Watford
The Times on Thursday have an update on the current relationship between Marco Silva and Watford.
Watford recently sacked Silva following a defeat to Leicester in the Premier League.
The Hornets moved quickly to appoint Javi Gracia as their new boss.
Of course, Watford turned down a large offer from Everton earlier in the season for Silva.
According to the latest update in the Times, Silva and Watford could be headed to court.
Did Silva’s Everton contact breach his contract?
The Portuguese manager hasn’t spoken to the media since he was dismissed from his Watford post.
That’s because Silva and Watford have yet to agree on a compensation package for the manager’s termination.
Marco Silva is now threatening legal action against the Hornets, while Watford feels Silva may have breached his contract when he listened to Everton’s offers. The Times sum up the current situation at Vicarage Road:
Marco Silva is threatening legal action against Watford because he has yet to agree his compensation package.
(Silva) believes that he is entitled to £750,000, or six months’ salary, plus additional compensation.
Watford may resist meeting Silva’s demands because of their belief that the 40-year-old breached his contract by talking to Everton without their permission.
Troy Deeney gets a let off
Watford beat Chelsea 4-1 in the Premier League on Monday night.
Troy Deeney opened the scoring for Watford with a first half penalty.
After he scored, Deeney celebrated by flashing his middle fingers in the air.
That lead to fears the Watford striker could be slapped with a four match ban for his bad behaviour. Yet, it’s since been confirmed that Deeney has escaped any punishment for his crude goal celebration.
