Everton have reportedly made a move for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo within the final hour of the summer transfer window.
The Argentine has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer and Everton have been on the lookout for a central defender.
The club have been pursuing Yerry Mina for a number of weeks now but other names have been linked throughout that pursuit.
Kurt Zouma is another name that today it has been linked with a move late on in the transfer window.
L’Equipe are reporting that Everton have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign the player on loan for the season.
Though, other reports are suggesting that it is Marcos Rojo who Everton have moved for and it could cost them £22million.
Race against time
That is because the Telegraph are reporting that Everton are hoping to get a £22million deal done for the Argentine before the window closes.
The report claims that after the signings of Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, the club will move for Rojo and it could well go down to the wire.
They end the report by claiming that it is now expected that deal is expected to happen and will come as a shock.
That is because Manchester United are yet to sign a new central defender and don’t look like doing so before the window closes.
A Rojo departure would leave them short in that position so a deal will certainly come as a big shock.
Further to those suggestions of a done deal with Kurt Zouma, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes are set to join the club.
Those deals could soon be completed but there is still a race against time to make sure they are over the line.
