Everton’s new star striker?
Everton have reportedly made contact with AS Roma in relation to a potential move for out of favour striker Patrik Schick.
The Toffees are on the lookout for a new striker with their current options not of the required level.
Everton’s current first-choice striker is Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has plenty of potential but is not of the required quality to turn the Toffees into a top-four contender.
The 22-year-old has scored six goals in 29 Premier League appearances.
Cenk Tosun has also failed to impress when given his chance in the starting eleven.
That has led to suggestions that Everton will move for a striker or two in the summer transfer window.
Now, Everton are being linked with a move for AS Roma forward Patrik Schick.
Schick to end his Roma nightmare?
Schick hasn’t made a great start to his career in Rome.
Despite coming in with very lofty expectations Schick has only scored eight goals in 53 Roma appearances.
That isn’t good enough for a player which could reportedly cost Roma up to £39million.
Now, he’s been linked with a move to Everton.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, as cited by Sport Witness, Everton and RB Leipzig have asked for information regarding a potential move for Schick.
Roma have even named their price if a move was to come to fruition, said to be €24m.
Though, what is interesting is that Roma would also be open to sending the player out on loan with an option to buy.
That would suit both Everton and RB Leipzig with Schick’s performances for Roma a pretty big red flag for any club looking for a proven goalscorer.
