Everton and Liverpool target Charlton starlet in January window

Red vs Blue

Everton and Liverpool will go head to head for one of Charlton’s young players during the January transfer window as they target youth signings.

Both sides are known for having talented youth systems and this situation is not much difference from several in the past.

This time it comes in the form of Charlton youngster and U20’s World Cup winner with England Ezri Konsa.

The youngster was part of the squad that won the youth World Cup in the summer with all of Liverpool’s Dominic Solanke as well as Ademola Lookman, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Kieran Dowell and Jonjoe Kenny.

That means that both sides have players that are close to the player and know his strengths, something which will no doubt benefit both teams.

Not only that, that means that both sides will be looking for the charm offensive from their players to convince them of which side to join.

Ezri Konsa was expected to leave Charlton in the summer but that didn’t happen in the end and he remained at the club.

Still, club officials still expect the player to leave in the January window and that could be to either Liverpool or Everton.

Liverpool signed youngster Joe Gomez from Charlton in the past and Everton’s youngster Lookman also signed from Charlton last winter.

Everton target £40million signing

While Everton are no doubt looking to improve their youth players, they are targeting a big signing this winter.

That comes in the form of a big name striker and it could cost them up to £40 million to sign him.

Everton have struggled in attack this season and a big name strike could be exactly what they need.
