Everton linked with South American left-back ahead of transfer window

Making moves

Everton are looking to make an early move for one South American star as they start to prepare for next season after a disappointing campaign.

Having finally reached the 40 point mark with a win over Stoke City on Saturday, the club can finally put their shambles of a season behind them.

The Toffees have been threatened by relegation for the most of the season but their safety was finally confirmed at the weekend.

Now, with Sam Allardyce still at the helm, it’s time for Everton to put their transfer plans in action so that this season never happens again.

One of the first names to be linked is Boca Juniors left-back Frank Fabra.

The Colombian star will feature of the national side at this year’s World Cup and that means that a transfer is likely to be done straight after the end of the season.

With a very quick turnaround between the Premier League season and the World Cup, deals will need to be completed swiftly with the new deadline day also in effect which will see the window close before the season starts in August.

Fabra has been impressing for Boca this season and seemingly has some big suitors.

Reports suggest that while Everton are looking to make an attractive offer for the player this summer, Napoli are also interested.

With Everton in such desperate need of a left-back to succeed Leighton Baines, 27-year-old Fabra could be that man.

Whether he will be playing under Sam Allardyce or another manager, Blues will have to wait and see.

Everton vs Tottenham: Luke Shaw has a clear favourite

While Frank Fabra is one left-back that Everton are seemingly pursuing, he isn’t the only one.

That is because links have suggested the Toffees will move for Luke Shaw.

Though, Tottenham are too and Shaw seemingly has a favourite of the two.
