Everton vs Leicester in summer transfer battle
Premier League duo Everton and Leicester have been linked with a move for Hertha Berlin star Valentino Lazaro ahead of the summer transfer window.
Both the Toffees and Foxes are sat around mid-table and are competing in the race for 7th place.
With the ambition that both clubs have, they should be aiming for much more next season.
Everton splashed the cash last summer in an attempt to break into the top six while Leicester have high aspirations having won the Premier League only a few years ago.
If both Everton and Leicester want to compete for much more next season, they will need to make moves in the summer transfer window.
Now, the two Premier League sides have been linked with a move for Hertha Berlin star Valentino Lazaro who could be the player that takes them to the next level.
The next David Alaba?
Lazaro has really impressed in the Bundesliga this season.
The 23-year-old can play in any position on the right side but has predominantly played at right-back.
From defence, the player has scored two goals and assisted five in 24 Bundesliga appearances.
Now, he’s getting interest from a number of clubs including Napoli, Everton and Leicester.
Journalist Raffaele Auriemma has been speaking about Lazaro’s future this week.
Speaking on radio, quoted by CalcioNapoli24 and translated by Sport Witness, Auriemma revealed Everton and Leicester’s interest and explained how Lazaro is ‘widely seen as the most talented player to come from Austria since David Alaba.’
“Lazaro’s agent is talking to Napoli… The price is very high,” Auriemma explained.

“Hertha Berlin asks for €30m, but for €25m you can take him away. There are Premier League clubs who follow him, particularly Everton and Leicester, who continually observe him during Hertha home games.
“He’s one of the reasons Hertha Berlin are in the mix for the Europa League places this season. He’s widely seen as the most talented player to come from Austria since David Alaba.
“He’s been an amazing signing already if you see his energy and adaptability to play in different positions. Some people have compared him to Willian in style – very direct but also skilful. This guy will go places. He looks like he can fit into many different shirts.”
