Everton interested in Everton Soares as Gremio chief responds to links – Sky

Everton to Everton?

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Gremio star Everton Soares, with the Brazilian club’s executive director Klauss Camara speaking out over a move.

The Toffees have struggled at times this season.

The Blues flopped under previous boss Marco Silva, falling towards the relegation zone.

However, great work from Duncan Ferguson in the interim, and Carlo Ancelotti since he came in, have turned Everton’s fortunes around.

With Ancelotti now in charge, it’s assumed that the Italian will have funds to spend.

Those funds should allow him to build a team in his own image, and push for a top-six spot either this season or next.

There are also a number of positions Everton are light in, such as right-wing and central defence.

Now, Everton have been linked with a move for namesake Everton Soares to solve their wing problems.

Toffees interested in Everton Soares

According to Sky Sports, the Toffees are interested in signing Everton Soares.

They don’t report much more about their interest, simply claiming that Tottenham had scouted the Brazilian and Arsenal had previously been interested.

Manchester United were also linked with a move for Everton Soares elsewhere in late 2018.

With Everton possibly in the market for a winger this month, Soares could represent an attractive option.

He starred in Brazil’s Copa America campaign in 2019, alongside Everton star Richarlison, and they could form a lethal attack at Goodison Park.

‘Everton at Everton is a situation that is coming up more intensely’

Speaking in the Brazilian media this week, Gremio executive director Klauss Camara hinted that there is something in the Toffees’ interest.

He claimed that the situation is ‘coming up more intensely’.

However, there’s been no offer yet.

‘Everton at Everton is a situation that is coming up more intensely,’ he explained to Correio do Povo.

‘But there’s no presented offer. In recent months, he’s been linked to several giants in Europe, but nothing concrete.’
