Bertrand Traore & Chelsea

Bertrand Traore has history in the Premier League, having formerly been on the books of Chelsea.

Chelsea signed Traore when he was under 18-years-old, as the Blues paid £400,000 for the Burkina Faso forward.

However, Traore’s Chelsea switch contributed to the current transfer embargo placed on the Blues.

As previously revealed by Mediaset, the manner in which Chelsea signed Traore breached FIFA guidelines on signing teenagers.

Will Lyon sell Bertrand Traore to Everton?

Lyon are known for being something of a selling club in France.

Previously, Arsenal have signed Alexandre Lacazette from OL, while Tottenham may land Tanguy Ndombele this summer. (More here.)

Meanwhile, Ferland Mendy has joined Real Madrid from Lyon for 48 million euros.

So do Lyon need to sell Traore to Everton? One suspects that the French club aren’t under much financial pressure to make the deal happen.

Everton’s striker search

From Everton’s perspective, does Traore fit the bill as the club look for fresh attacking options in 2019-20?

On Sunday, the Liverpool Echo have confirmed Everton’s next target:

Everton are in the market to sign a new forward this summer as Marcel Brands and Marco Silva look to enhance the squad ahead of next season.

Everton have already signed Andre Gomes from Barcelona.
