Could Digne be on his way to North London?
Everton have reportedly informed Tottenham of their demands for the transfer of French star Lucas Digne, after a brilliant first season at Goodison Park.
The Frenchman joined Everton from Barcelona last summer, and has been pivotal in Marco Silva’s side ever since.
Digne finished as joint-player of the season for Everton, sharing the award with Idrissa Gueye.
The left-back finished the season with four goals and five assists, also boasting a brilliant chance creation record.
His performances even earned him a recall to the French national side, with Digne linking up with his countrymen this week.
Now, he’s also been linked with a move to Champions League finalists Tottenham.
Everton lay out their demands
According to the Mirror, Tottenham are keen on signing Lucas Digne.
Their report claims that ‘Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to use some of their windfall from reaching the Champions League Final on Everton’s French star.’
The Mirror even claim that Pochettino wanted Digne last summer, but his hands were tied in terms of transfer budget.
Now, he wants to sign him second time around, but Everton won’t make it easy for Spurs.
The Mirror’s report explains ‘Everton would want England international Rose in part exchange and some cash on top to tempt them into parting with Digne.’
Those demands ‘may be enough to ward off Spurs’, with Rose now a regular in the Spurs team again.
With Digne only signing last summer and Everton’s strong bargaining position, a move looks unlikely for now.
