The Everton faithful have taken to social media in their absolute numbers this evening, to take aim at boss Rafael Benitez.
Hornets run riot
The Toffees were of course back in action a short time ago.
After slipping off the pace in the Premier League owing to just a solitary victory in four over recent weeks, Benitez and co. welcomed Watford to Goodison Park, eyeing a return to form.
When all was said and done on Merseyside, however, to say that such a development was not forthcoming would be putting it lightly.
Everton actually twice took the lead on the day, courtesy of strikes on the part of Tom Davies and the returning Richarlison either side of the interval.
But a late, and altogether spectacular collapse, ultimately culminated in Claudio Ranieri’s visitors departing Goodison with all three points, courtesy of a head-turning 5-2 result.
Josh King proved the star of the show, notching a hat-trick, with Juraj Kucka and Emmanuel Bonaventure having also been on target inside a frantic final quarter of an hour.

In turn, on the back of the final whistle sounding, it should come as little surprise to hear that a whole host of Everton’s stars have since been singled out for heavy criticism.
None, however, has been more widely targeted than the man in charge at Goodison, in the form of Rafael Benitez.
The first sign of trouble was always likely to culminate in the Blues faithful turning on their new boss, owing to his much talked about Liverpool past.
And a humiliating 3-goal defeat at home to an outfit who just last weekend shipped five at the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds has, in turn, done the trick, with just some of the social media backlash stemming from Saturday’s action showcased below:
Brings on Richarlison for Gordon when he was playing with the club on his heart.
Rondon, still on the pitch for the whole game AND brings on Iwobi, the man who we can’t get a barn door out of.
Rafa mate, It’s not 2005 you really are a shit manager these days

Benitez is to blame here leaving rondon on the pitch taking of our better players now a king hatrick fuck off everton
— mike cole (@MikeevertonCole) October 23, 2021
Benitez can get to fuck after today. Rondon still on and took off 2 players who were out best creative outlets.
No passion. Allan, Davies backing out of 50/50 challenges. Defenders winning fuck all.
Absolute joke of a team.

Starting Rondon was bad enough keeping him on again all game and making the subs he did is unforgivable. He firmly takes blame Benitez, embarrassing that.

Scary how we fell apart in the last 20 mins. I blame Benitez tactics, we should of shut up shop and took rondon off and went 5 in midfield.
Don’t know why he won’t take rondon off either, he’s fucking shite.

Can’t help but feel that this might already be the turning point for Benitez and the fans.
Defending set pieces, subs and game management are on him.
All were appalling. (The players also deserve a lot of flak too, mind).
