Everton fans plead for James return following concerning Villa defeat

 

Everton’s supporters have flooded to social media this evening, to call for outcast James Rodriguez to be reintegrated into the club’s setup over the coming weeks.

Rafael Benitez’s men were back in action a short time ago.

The Toffees made the trip to Villa Park for a Premier League showdown with Aston Villa, aiming to make it four wins from five to start out the campaign.

When all was said and done on Saturday, however, to say that Everton were brought firmly back down to earth would be putting it lightly.

Amid an altogether concerning display, the Blues were put to the sword by three goals to nil, by a Villa outfit who had not exactly set the world alight over the opening weeks of the new season.

Everton, in their defence, were without a whole host of key performers this evening, in the form of the sidelined Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Jordan Pickford and Seamus Coleman.

The Toffees’ showing, however, all told, was simply not good enough.

But, if the latest social media activity on the part of the club’s fanbase is anything to go by, then supporters of Rafael Benitez’s outfit are evidently of the opinion that one change on the part of the club’s boss could go a long way in getting Everton swiftly back on track over the weeks ahead.
