Gabriel open to Premier League switch
Gabriel Magalhaes has become an integral member of Lille’s backline over the last year or so.
The 22-year-old joined Lille in January of 2017. He was then loaned out to fellow French outfit Troyes six months later.
Gabriel was then sent back out on loan to Dinamo Zagreb’s second team, a move that saw the centre-back make just 11 appearances.
After returning from a fairly disappointing loan spell, Gabriel would slowly begin to work his way into Lille’s first-team picture. And he has now notched 49 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit.
Lille qualified for the Champions League last term, and they have a solid chance of doing so again this season, with Gabriel a key cog in their defence.
Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian has already reportedly attracted some transfer interest in recent months, with the Sun claiming that Arsenal are monitoring the Lille standout, with a view to a summer move.
Gabriel himself was asked about a potential switch to Arsenal earlier this month.
Telefoot asked the Lille defender if Arsenal is a possibility for him in the future, to which Gabriel responded:
“Maybe, I don’t know. But I would love to play in the Premier League.”

Everton eyeing move for Gabriel
Now, in the wake of Gabriel expressing a desire to play in England’s top division, it appears that another Premier League outfit are interested in him.
According to the Mirror, Everton are targeting Gabriel, with the Merseyside powerhouse looking to make a centre-half their priority signing in the upcoming summer window.
The Toffees are said to have scouted Gabriel several times in recent months. And both Arsenal and Leicester City have also been present at Lille’s Ligue 1 matches recently, as per the Mirror.
In terms of a potential fee for the towering centre-back, the report from the Mirror claims that Gabriel could command a sum of around £30m.
